Chocolate Mug Cake

1-001
I know I’ve posted the recipe for a lava mug cake before, but this one is a little different as it is much more of a cake than the first one. They’re both decadent, just two totally different cakes. If you’ve tried both, let me know which one is your favorite! I’ll be honest, my favorite is the lava cake because I prefer the gooey consistency! But this is great for those of you who are fans of the cake-y brownie as opposed to the fudge-y kind!

Recipe adapted from Babble by Bellalimento

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt (I used sea salt)
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons skim milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Optional: 2 salted caramels

Directions:
Combine the egg, milk, and vegetable oil in mug and mix well. Add cocoa powder, followed by the sugar, and finally the flour, mixing well before adding each additional ingredient. Then add the salt and baking powder. If desired, drop caramels into the center of the mixture, one at a time. Microwave on high for one minute and 30 seconds.

So easy, right?

I feel like it’s been quite a while since I’ve done a recipe post! Now, this one is nothing fancy but it’s perfect when you want a quick dessert for yourself or even if you need a quick, homemade dessert for a small dinner party (you know, when you don’t have time to prepare anything beforehand!) since you can make each one in under 5 minutes. This is delicious with ice cream and even better with some salted caramel sauce!
