I rarely get my makeup done… in fact, I’ve only really had it professionally done a handful of times (I didn’t even get it professionally done for my own wedding), but there’s something to be said for having it done by someone who knows what she’s doing… I mean really knows. I like to think that I know what I’m talking about when it comes to doing my own makeup at least, but after talking to Kayla (we’ve been friends since pre-school so I was shocked about how much I learned from her in just an hour makeup session since we talk almost everyday) I realized I didn’t know as much as I thought I knew. For example, your face looks much more “done” if you add even just a little color and clear gel to your eyebrows. Also, expensive makeup isn’t always better than a product you’d find at the drugstore (her favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara for under $10!). I tried to link to as many products as I could but if you have any questions, let me know! If you’re local and are looking for a makeup artist for a special occasion, send me an email at lizzieandjaneblog@gmail.com and I will send you Kayla’s contact information!

Also, let me know if you’re interested in seeing more beauty posts like this or even hair and/or makeup tutorials. I want to do an old Hollywood glam look with sharp black liner (definitely a cat eye!) and bold red lips next (perfect for the upcoming holidays!). I was also thinking that a Q and A series could be fun! Let me know what you think!!
