Right now is my favorite time to buy sweaters. Everything is on sale and it’s just a really good time to invest in cold weather pieces that you’ve had your eye on, especially if the price drops. Because we live in the Northeast, we (unfortunately) most times end up wearing our sweaters well into the spring and if it’s a lightweight or open weave sweater or cardigan (like this one), they even work for summer nights.

Investing in your wardrobe doesn’t have to mean buying pieces that are really expensive. I think you should buy what you love (you know, the pieces that bring you joy!), buy sustainable when you can (you all know about my love for Everlane and ICYMI, see my favorite sustainable brands here!), and try to avoid “fast fashion” and trends. If you take care of your clothes, they should last you a long time, even if your sweater wasn’t $200. This sweater is at least 4 years old (see how I styled it in 2015 here)and is from Banana Republic’s outlet store and definitely cost me less than $50!

It’s been a l o n g week so I’m extra glad it’s Friday. Do you guys have any fun weekend plans? We’re going today to meet with our contractor and to see what our house looks like with (almost) all the walls down! I’ve only seen it via FaceTime so I’m excited to see what they did this week- I can hardly believe we started the renovation process, we’ve been talking about it for so long! Anyway, I caught Amelia’s cold earlier this week so other than that I think we’ll be keeping a low profile and hopefully getting out for a walk… if the frigid temperatures let up (and the rain)!
