End of Summer Style

As I’m sitting here beginning to write this post, I realized it’s been a long time since I’ve done a proper outfit post. I kind of miss them! What about you? Do you like seeing one look at a time or a bunch of styles, pieces, and poses instead? I do like both because, honestly, how many different ways can one pose wearing the same outfit? Also, these kinds of posts are just way more fitting for life lately… I’ve been slowly getting back into headbands and LOVE this one (I can’t find it in stock but it’s Lele Sadoughi x Love Shack Fancy). I did get this on sale but would probably pay full price- I’ve tried cheaper versions and returned all of them except for one (disclaimer- I have really thick and slightly wild hair). Also, the kids’ pajamas are one of my my new go to brands for organic cotton (linked all of their looks at the bottom of this post!)!

This. Dress.

Definitely a wardrobe staple this spring and summer and even into fall. As the days and nights get cooler, I’ll add a chunky cardigan or cozy sweater and swap out my sandals for these white sneakers. I can’t recommend this dress enough!

I’d been wanting a pair of these pima cotton pajamas for a while now (like, years!) and I finally caved this summer… quarantine has made me buy ALL the loungewear I’ve been wanting forever! I have to say that while they may not be the most shapely, they are extremely comfortable and I feel cute and put together (yes, even though they’re pajamas) when wearing them. I’m expecting them to last for a loooong time and will report back on their longevity when more time has passed that I’ve had and worn them. I will definitely be getting another pair this fall!

More of my Everlane favorite pieces. I know I’ve been talking (too much?) about how much I’ve been into neutrals lately and this striped tee just makes me happy. Also, these denim shorts have the best fit of any I’ve ever tried (even Julia Berolzheimer wears and loves Everlane!) and these are my tried and true white sneakers though these are my new favorites and are under $60!

I’ve been eyeing these “easy” pull-on chinos for some time… I just love the sage green color… and am so glad I finally tried them. I was happy to discover that they’re super practical and wearable- this day I was outside with my sister-in-law and our four children and got soaked and dirty and sweaty and they washed up really well.

Oh, the biker short. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried these on at how much I loved them. They remind me of my mom when I was younger and I think that makes me love them a hundred times more.

Here’s this dress again! I wasn’t kidding when I said I’ve been wearing it on repeat. On. Repeat.

This linen button down felt like the epitome of summer to me. I’ll be wearing it through fall with my denim shorts and these white sneakers and maybe later on with jeans layered with a cozy sweater and ballet flats. I think I need to do a style post or a collage around this shirt… it’s just SO versatile!

This striped tee is new for me and I’m obsessed. I want to wear it over my bathing suits, with these denim shorts, over a floral print dress, and with boyfriend jeans and these white sneakers!

I’m definitely planning on wearing this white dress (sold out but similar here) well into fall. Similar to this tank dress, I’ll keep the white sneakers (I also clearly wear these on repeat. They’re the best!) but add a chunky cardigan for cooler days and nights. I much prefer a good layered look to one piece looks!

Leggings are my best friend! I used to think I loved Zella until I tried Girlfriend and Everlane and I don’t think I can go back!

Do you have a favorite transitional look? What are you most excited about for fall? Obviously, it’s going to look a bit different than we thought it would but we can still enjoy all of the outdoor activities associated with autumn! I’m excited to take the kids apple picking again and decorating for fall (our bathroom reno is starting this coming week so I’m going to wait to really get into all things fall until after that- mostly because it’ll just be easier once we can settle in again!

What my kids are wearing:

Sincerely, Britt
