KOTN

In my search for sustainable brands and companies that care and give back, I recently came across a brand called KOTN. They exclusively use Egyptian cotton and actually work directly with the farmers and their families, trying to rebuild the industry from the inside. Then, they create their own fabrics from the raw cotton in a factory that employs ethical practices and locals. They call it “farm to table” but for your clothes!

I received this babydoll dress from them and it’s adorable! I think I got it less than a month ago and I’ve already worn it at least 5 times. It’s really easy to throw on, you can wear it with sneakers to dress it down or sandals to dress it up- I’ve worn it both ways and this it is equally cute with either. I’m also looking forward to pairing with a cardigan and flats or booties in the fall! It washes well, too, but just a warning: it does shrink in the dryer so air dry it if you don’t want that to happen… I know this for a fact because I shrunk mine (on purpose, but I was surprised by how much it actually did shrink!).

On this day, we went to the farmer’s market. We love to go for walks, especially as a family, and we try to walk there every Saturday morning that we’re home. It’s a fun little tradition we’ve established and one of my favorite things about where we live. Our town is really walkable (something that was really important to us when we were looking) and is one of the reasons we bought here so we try to take advantage of it as much as we can!

Always carrying my Yeti thermos for coffee refills!

Another thing I really love about KOTN is that they are working to fund local schools so that the children in their farming communities have access to safe, convenient, and quality schools. Aside from making sure their materials are sustainable, they also care about ethical business practices and the people creating the clothes. Just one more reason to feel good about supporting this brand!

This is my favorite reusable bag (I’ve had it for years) and these sneakers are eco-friendly from another one of my favorite eco-friendly brands! Believe it or not, I didn’t plan the olive on olive but I like the contrast of the dark and light hues here!

Happy Friday! We’re at the beach with my family and it’s been so nice. I’ve been off my phone more than usual (I try to limit myself to taking pictures when we first get somewhere and then put it away) and I’ve been really enjoying it. It can be hard when you’re trying to build an online business that relies somewhat heavily on social media to stay off of it but it is definitely needed from time to time! I’m still working on my time management and boundaries, though… I’m open to any tips you have! Thanks so much for reading!

Sincerely, Britt
