Mixing Shades of Green

Green has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember and I like almost every shade. I’ve gone through a hunter green phase, a time when mint green was my absolute favorite, and even times where I’ve really liked kelly green and dark teal. Now, I think I may have a slight preference for some hues over others but I actually really enjoy mixing them together to create a pretty palette of nature inspired colors. Blues are probably my next favorite color category because they remind me of the sea. For our first floor, I’m planning on doing a mix of deep greens and blues as our main color scheme!

Here are some green sweaters I’m loving right now (& some are wear now, wear later, too!):

I don’t mind buying sweaters or cardigans in soft shades of greens, blues, pinks, and neutrals as much because it’s easier for me to justify wearing it year round. Especially now, when so many sweaters, etc. are on sale! I’m thinking about getting a lighter weight sweater in one of these shades so it will work for spring and summer nights, too (I’m actually still going on my “No Shop January” run so I’m going to have to really l o v e it to actually purchase something right now!). I have a cardigan in a rust shade, which I love, but I never want to wear it in the spring and I think I wear it most in fall. I also bought a Kelly green cardigan last spring and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve worn it. Light green is just one of those colors that feels seasonless to me.

On a totally unrelated note, I’ve been thinking about doing something different with my hair. Most of the time I really do love it long because it weighs down my waves and natural tendencies to frizz, but it’s just so.much.hair. Summer is coming…

Also, I really love this beret. I wasn’t sure I would when I bought it and though I don’t wear it all the time, I love it when I do. It definitely is one of the items in my closet that sparks joy when I see it!

Happy Friday! I’m really glad it’s the weekend because it’s just been one of those weeks. This is the end of week 4 for us being out of our house and I’m hoping it starts to come together soon. We still have holes in the walls and floors, dust EVERYWHERE (there’s a heavy layer covering literally every surface in the house, even on the third floor), and a trench/moat surrounding our back door/future laundry room so moving back is not looking like an option anytime soon. Luckily, Joe’s parents have been awesome- I know it has to be tough having two toddlers and a crazy dog take over your home for over a month! If anyone wants to come over with me and clean when we’re ready to move back, let me know- haha! I’m pretty sure it’s going to take me a whole weekend just cleaning the house top to bottom and washing e v e r y t h i n g before I’ll let the kids back in there!

Sincerely, Britt
