My Favorite Everlane Pieces for Summer

on Britt: dress, necklace (my favorite piece of jewelry I own)
on kids: dress, tee, shorts

Ok, this dress! I’ve been curating my dress collection for a while now, slowly weeding out trendier and “only-worn-once” pieces and swapping them out for feminine, classic styles that I know I’ll wear again and again. It’s not a deal breaker if they’re not machine-washable, but I’ve been trying to stick to both sustainable and easy care pieces since I have two young kids… I don’t want to feel like I can’t wear something because I’m afraid it will get dirty! This dress is airy, comfortable, flattering, and the light floral print makes it feel so dainty!

dress, sneakers

If you’re into wardrobe capsules or even just simplifying your closet, Everlane is a good place for you to start. Over the past few years, I’ve been really honing in on my style and trying to make sure every piece I have is one that I love, is versatile, can work for multiple seasons (mostly), and is practical, comfortable (because #momlife) and Everlane has quickly become the dominant brand in my wardrobe. It’s also important to me that a piece is sustainable and well made so that I know it will last.

tank, leggings

I recently tried their leggings and I really love them! This is the copper color and it is a perfect blend of neutral and vibrant. It’s beautiful in person! My other favorite sustainable legging brand is Girlfriend Collective.

pants, swimsuit, hat (similar)

These pants are what my beach lifestyle dreams are made of. I love the look of light and airy separates when worn together, layered, or individually. These are a chino material (I also have the cropped version in sage) so not quite ideal for a beach coverup, honestly, but I loved the look so I wore them anyway. They’d look just as cute with a tank and sandals for a day at home or dressed up with a blouse and slip on mules for an outdoor brunch with the girls.

dress, sandals

Another dress I’ve been obsessing over lately. Another one that can be dressed up or dressed down. Another really great wardrobe addition for years to come. There’s not much that screams summer louder than a white dress and this one is no exception!

on Britt: dress, sandals
on kids: dress, shorts, polo

on Britt: dress, sweatshirt (similar), sneakers
on kids: dress, shoes, flip flops, zip up

If you’ve been following me for a while, particularly on Instagram, you know that I like a good t-shirt dress. I’m not a super frilly girl (even when I try because I love a good over-the-top detail, it feels a little out of place on me) so more muted dresses feel more me. And they’re machine washable and lightweight enough to wear all day but also not see through.

tee (almost sold out, other linen options here), chinos, flats

Here are the chinos in the cropped version. I think they’re also a little lighter-weight than the full length. Either way, I really like these, especially for when the seasons are transitioning.

sandals

on Britt: bike shorts, tank, sneakers
on kids: dress, flip flops, shorts, tee

This was my first experience with wearing bike shorts in many, many year and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about them but I love them! I’m not typically a shorts girl (it’s typically dresses or pants for me!) but I felt really comfortable and covered up in these!

on Britt: tee, shorts
on Amelia: pajamas

dress, hat

I’ve been more and more drawn to lighter colors lately. It makes me feel like I’m living at the beach even though we’re not. I’ve also been wearing dresses a lot more. I’ve always loved dresses and have always been one to don a casual dress on any given day but I’ve also been one to save certain dresses for specific occasions. I love that Amelia wants to wear a dress every day and will wear a fancy one on days she’s feeling fancy and a comfortable one on days she wants to play outside (though she’d wear her frillier dresses every day regardless of the occasion if I let her!)! Between her example and our stay at home orders for the past few months, I’ve decided that there’s no reason to “save” clothes. I’m not exactly wearing my dresses that I have to wear to a wedding reception but I’m also not saving all of my cute ones for special occasions either (Julia Berolzheimer is such a good example of this, too! Though she has significantly more dresses than I do and I’m sure she has special ones saved, she gets dressed for the day every day and not just in leggings… of which I’m definitely guilty most days!).

Bonus: They also have really cute cotton masks right now! Hope you have a great weekend and stay safe! Thanks so much for reading!!

Sincerely, Britt
