Saranghae 5 Step Anti Aging Skin Care Routine Review

Skincare has always been really important to me. I’ve always washed my face morning and night, worn sunscreen (minus a few bad judgement calls when I was younger), and I try to get a couple of facials a year. My mom has worked for a dermatologist since I was in high school and so I feel like I was always a little more diligent with my skin because of her. My mom has beautiful skin (both of my grandmothers have beautiful skin, too, so I’m hoping some of it is genetic!) and she taught me the importance of protecting and caring for your skin from a young age.

My skin has always been a bit acne prone. I’ve always had breakouts but until I had Joseph, they were pretty consistent in severity and timing. After having Joseph, my skin got so much worse! It was drier than usual, I was having more and worse breakouts than usual and on a consistent basis, and my skin just felt really dull… also, the dark under eye circles from the lack of sleep wasn’t helping. So, that, combined with the fact that I turned 30 in July made me decide that 2017 was the year to get more serious about my skincare. As much as I thought I was always taking care of my skin, I never really had a skincare regimen (and I know I don’t drink enough water, I’m working on it!) and I really wanted to get into the habit of one while I’m young. So I did some research and came across Saranghae.

I’ve also been trying to phase out many of my beauty, household, and food products that have unnecessary chemicals and preservatives in them so looking for something that used natural ingredients was very important to me. Saranghae is a Korean skincare line (it actually means “I love you” in Korean) that focuses on natural ingredients. Its roots can be traced back almost 600 years to a family heirloom that documents the health benefits of herbs and plants still found growing near a volcanic mountain in a small town in South Korea. One of it’s main ingredients is the Sang Hwang mushroom, also called “The Healing Mushroom” in Asia. It has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties that help to heal, regenerate and protect your skin cells and assist in anti aging.

I wanted to do a video of myself doing the sheet mask (step 5 in the anti aging skin care routine) because it was the first time I’ve used this particular product and the first time I’ve used a sheet mask so I wanted to record my thoughts and reactions as they really were. I loved it! This mask is seriously hydrating and so simple! You literally just open the package, smooth the mask on your face, and leave it on for 20 minutes. When you take it off, gently peel it down starting from the top of your face and just rub in the excess moisturizer. You DO NOT have to wash your face after removing the mask but you should cleanse BEFORE putting on the mask (DO NOT put on any of the other products before using the mask).

Ok, guys… this is my first video that I’ve ever posted so, please be kind (it definitely did not go quite as planned… you’ll see!)!

Saranghae’s 5 Step Anti Aging Skin Care Routine:

Step 1: Cleanse with Saranghae Nourishing + Moisturizing Cleanser (daily)
Step 2: Apply Saranghae Deep Radiance Essence + Serum (daily)
Step 3: Apply Saranghae Firm and Lift Cellular Regeneration Cream (daily)
Step 4: Apply Saranghae Focus Renewal Eye Cream (daily)
Step 5: Use Saranghae Elemental Essence Mask (once a week or as needed)

I’ve been using this routine for almost a month now and I definitely see a big difference in my skin. It looks brighter, is more hydrated, and just feels healthier. And I feel better knowing about the ingredients that I’m putting on my skin. I am still experiencing my typical breakouts, though, so I still use a spot treatment and occasionally (a couple times a week) will exfoliate with other products. If I had to pick my favorite Saranghae product, it would be the sheet mask. My face felt SO hydrated and there was a visible difference in the “health” of my skin. After that, I would have to say the essence and serum or the eye cream (the eye cream is Joe’s favorite- he seriously asks me to put it on him every morning!). I love the face cream, too, but it is pretty thick so I don’t always love using it when my face already feels oily, even after washing. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed having a skincare routine and I really do see a difference in my skin!

Happy Friday, guys! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
